Birchwood Farmstead
Beyond the red timber bridge that stretches over the River Coe in the Scottish Highlands, the old farmstead of Ach'nam Beithach (the Field of Birchwood) sits at the northwest base of Aonach Dubh (Black Ridge) as a waterfall-teemed stream tumbles down then alongside grazing sheep.

"Clogher Cove" ~ Sybil Head and the triple peaks known as the Three Sisters appear beyond the cove at An Drum, as viewed from near Clogher Head. The small white specks on the peninsula are sheep, while the larger specks in the distance are houses. This multi-frame stitched photo has an aggregate size of 48 megapixels.

"End of the Road" ~ Rough seas at the end of the road at Coumeenoole Beach on the Dingle Peninsula. A seal was spotted swimming in the rolling surf moments before.

"Storm Approaching Cliffs of Moher" ~ Dark clouds and rain showers approach the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. Moments later this storm was directly above, pouring rain and cutting the visibility to nearly nil. O’Brien’s Tower on the right was built by Cornelius O’Brien as an observation tower way back in 1835 and was recently restored. The cliffs have since been given the prestigious recognition as a Global Geopark by the United Nations (UNESCO). The cliffs are as tall as 702’ (214m), stretching over 5 miles (8km). NOTE: SmugMug limits file sizes to 48 megapixels and does not provide a non-cropped print option for 4:1 panoramics. This multi-frame stitched photo has an aggregate size of 121 megapixels, with dimensions of 22000x5500. Thus, prints of this photo up to 15"x60" are available exclusively through my gallery on Imagekind.. Archival-quality prints are available on paper or canvas. I am currently looking for on-demand printers that offer prints larger than 60" wide.

"Ashford Castle" ~ The oldest portion of the castle was built in 1228, followed by major expansions in 1715, 1852, and most recently in 1970. Ownership has passed through many hands including the Guinness family's before being turned into a luxury resort by Irish-American investors in 1985.

"North Shore Seascape" ~ In the late summer of 2010, I had the amazing opportunity to spend a week on the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Kaua'i. One day along the way to a kayaking tour in Hanalei Bay, my friends and I made a brief stop at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife refuge to check out the historic lighthouse. On the walk back to the car, I noticed this beautiful vista of the north shore of Kaua'i, looking westward toward Princeville. The cloud formations over the mountain with mid-morning lighting was simply perfect. More often than not, it's the shots that I don't plan for that end up being the "keepers."

T.A. Moulton Barn
The most famous historic barn in Grand Tetons National Park is located on the old Thomas Alma Moulton homestead. Alma began building the barn in 1913, with it evolving and growing over time until 1939 when the north roof was extended. The main hay hood of the barn mirrors the summit of Grand Teton itself.

Hoodoos
Hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park. A hoodoo is a tall, spindly structure that forms within sedimentary rock, protruding up from the bottom of Bryce Canyon. Hoodoos form over millions of years of erosion in areas where a thick layer of soft rock is covered by a thin layer of hard rock. Paiutes who lived in the area over thousands of years explained the colorful hoodoos as “Legend People” who were turned to stone by Coyote.
