Intricately carved canopies on the west end of Thistle Chapel in Edinburgh, Scotland. Each canopy tops a stall reserved for a Knight or Lady of the Thistle – one of the most notable and exclusive orders of chivalry in Scotland. The tallest and most elaborate canopy depicted near the center of my photo is reserved for the Sovereign – currently Queen Elizabeth II. © Benjamin Padgett, PhotoRaconteur.com
