"Upper Yosemite Fall Treescape" ~ View in Yosemite National Park of the Upper Yosemite Fall flanked by tree branches. The upper fall measures 1430' in height.
"Vernal Fall" ~ A view of the majestic Vernal Fall within Yosemite National Park. A classic waterfall composition, yet from a viewpoint less traveled by the masses for this particular waterfall.
"Vernal Fall Vista" ~ View of the 317' tall Vernal Fall and the Merced River along the Mist Trail in Yosemite National Park. The falls are about 80' wide at the top. Notice the tree stump to the right of the falls, it's the same tree that appears in Ansel Adams' classic photo of Vernal Fall, circa 1948.
"Upper Yosemite Fall, Mist Trail View" ~ View in Yosemite National Park of the Upper Yosemite Fall from the Mist Trail.
"Bridalveil Mist" ~ View in Yosemite National Park of Bridalveil Fall where the division is unclear between its mist and the clouds above. The 620' tall waterfall was originally named "Pohono" by Native Americans, which translates to "the spirit of the puffing wind".
"Bridalveil Fall & Half Dome" ~ View of Bridalveil Fall and Cathedral Rocks along with Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. The 620' tall waterfall was originally named "Pohono" by Native Americans, which translates to "the spirit of the puffing wind".
"Bridalveil Rainbows" ~ Colorful double rainbows at the base of Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite National Park. The 620' tall waterfall was originally named "Pohono" by Native Americans, which translates to "the spirit of the puffing wind." Notice that the colors of the outer rainbow are in reverse order of the main rainbow. The mist at this location is overwhelming in the Spring, requiring rain gear and camera waterproofing. Even then, it requires a paparazzi-like approach to snap photos quickly while turning toward the spray and then away in an attempt to try to keep the lens as dry as possible. The colorful rainbows have been isolated against a monochromatic background in the digital darkroom in order to achieve my desired visual effect.
