"French Fountain Story (Sepia)" ~ The pics on the left and right were taken of a fountain at the Paris Hotel in Vegas, and the center pic was taken at Forsyth Park in Savannah.

The Vegas fountain is a replica of La Fontaine de Mers. The original bronze fountain was designed and built by Jacob Ignaz Hittorf in 1836 in the Place de la Concorde, the largest square in Paris, France.

It is also very interesting to note that the design of the Savannah fountain is also thought to have been based on that same fountain in France. In fact, Forsyth Park and the boulevard and park system in downtown Savannah was heavily inspired by 19th century Paris.

The Savannah fountain was constructed in 1858, while the Vegas fountain was built much more recently of course, I believe in 1999.

This collage is also available in B&W and color tinted.
