"Powell-Mason Number 1" ~ According to the San Francisco Cable Car Museum, Cable Car Number 1 on the Powell-Mason Line was built as the "Centennial Car" celebrating 100 years of San Francisco cable cars. This cable car was completed on May 2, 1973, with the roof and seats being salvaged from the old Number 506. The car was presented to the public in a ceremony on July 19, 1973. The car has a plaque honoring Friedel Klussmann, who in 1947 saved the Powell Street cable cars.
