"Sailboat Sunset on the Bay" ~ It's hard to top watching the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge. Until two sailboats line up on either side of the setting sun, that is! It was a chilly September night as our catamaran tour sailed around Alcatraz and throughout San Francisco Bay. Just minutes after capturing "Through the Sail" and passing under the bridge then back again, the sun was just about to dip into the ocean amidst a peach and purple sky when two sailboats lined up on each side -- one near, one far. Thanks for that, captains.

"Pier 7 Bayscape" ~ The Bay Bridge and the San Francisco Belle grace the colorful view of the Bay from Pier 7. The cities of Oakland and Alameda can also be seen in the distance.

"Through the Sails" ~ The goal of any photographer visiting an extremely popular travel destination is to try to find a unique perspective of landmarks. This is especially true for the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. We've all seen dramatic photos of the bridge peaking through dense fog, or with a foreground of waves blurred by a slow shutter. But how many shots have you seen with the bridge framed by a windblown sails? This wasn't a planned shot at all of course, but this composition revealed itself to me just as our catamaran tour was about to pass under the bridge. If this shot wasn't enough, I was also fortunate enough to capture "Sunset Sailboat" just minutes later.

"Union Square Brilliance" ~ A view down vibrant Maiden Lane reveals posh retailers and luxury hotels with a bronze sculpture of the Goddess of Victory reigning over Union Square Park. The 90-foot monument was erected in 1903 to commemorate a Naval victory in the Spanish American War. It was one of the few structures in the area to survive the earthquake of 1906, after which Union Square was rebuilt and transformed into a shopping district.

"Golden Gate Sunset Panoramic" ~ A beautiful sunset provides a vibrant backdrop to the Golden Gate Bridge. While the south tower is the center of attention, the north tower is also visible in the shadows on the left.

"Escape into the Shadows" ~ Shadows of a fire escape decorate the façade of a hotel in the Union Square area of San Francisco.

"Around the Bend" ~ The majestic Golden Gate Bridge is just around the bend when approaching from the south.

"Cable Cars of San Francisco" ~ Three sepia toned photographs of San Francisco cable cars have been assembled. Cable Car Numbers 1 and 22 of the Powell Street lines are depicted. More information about these two cables cars are provided on the pages for each individual photograph.
